Here are some tips on how to choose your wardrobe for your fine art portraits. When it comes to fine art portraiture we want to choose something classic that brings out your confidence. Remember your wardrobe is not just clothing - it's part of the story we are telling.
Fine art portraiture is design to become heirlooms. This means that we need to select pieces with classic feel, like soft silks, flows gowns, delicate lace, or structured bodices.
Avoid complex patterns or logos; instead choose solid colors, textures, and fabrics that move beautifully. Try choosing colors like ivory, soft blush, navy, emerald, and deep jewel tones.
Choose outfits that Hugh or flow with your shape in a way that makes you feel like the best version of yourself. You don't need to show skin to look stunning.
Wrap dresses, bodysuits with tulle overlays, long skirts, or even an old formal dress can be repurposed beautifully.
In most indoor studio or fine art setting, your shoes will either be hidden or distract from the mood. Being barefoot can give your portraits a relaxed and graceful finish. When shooting full-length a soft feel or elegant flat will help get that same finish.
We always recommend bringing 2-3 outfit choices to your session. Other items that are part of your story are always a great addition to your session. We'll curate your wardrobe together once you arrive, so there's no pressure to decide everything at home.
